Thoughts on the game
“I thought it was a really good battle. Obviously, we were down early. I haven’t seen the video, but I think that they created some opportunities in the first couple of minutes and put us down. It showed a lot of character from the guys that kept fighting.”
“I thought that we created some really good chances. We weren’t able to put the ball in the goal. The second half comes around, we get a goal and I thought that we were doing some good things. It was really unfortunate that we picked up a red card. I don’t know if Houston could have beaten us if we weren’t down a man, but we sure as hell made it hard on ourselves again. I give Houston a lot of credit. They found a way to win the game.”
Thoughts on the red card
“I did not see it. All that I saw was a player running across the field and then I saw us clearing the ball and then I saw a player down on the ground, rubbing his head. It didn’t take the linesman long to tell the referee that it was an elbow.”
“I don’t know if we could have won the game. I think that we had played well enough and the momentum had changed once we scored, and I don’t know if they would have been able to beat us if we weren’t down a man. Once they got the space to make the passes, we didn’t get a lot of attack; it was just difficult. “
Thoughts on Jackson
I think Jackson was one of the best players on the field. He played on both sides of the ball. He scored a goal, saved one off of the line. I don’t know how you can get more out of a player.

Thoughts on Houston’s second goal
“Brad [Davis] had sent in another really good ball, I go to it and there was serious traffic. I actually thought somebody was going to get a header to it and put it on goal. I was able to get a hand on it and steer it towards the back post and get up again and I’m like ‘OK, I’m going to try to get to the near post and hopefully he has to put it back across the goal and somebody could help us out.’ Unfortunately, he finished it pretty emphatically.”
On dealing with injuries
“I think that the guys that were out there tonight really put forth a great effort and it speaks a lot to the character of the team. That’s why I think that it’s even more disappointing that we put ourselves in such a precarious spot. I think that if we would have finished off the game with eleven men, we probably would have at least gotten a point tonight. “

Thoughts on the match
“I think we did a good job coming back and tying the game. It’s the same old story for us. We have guys getting a red card. I have had my own faults with getting red cards this year that I accept responsibility for. It can’t keep happening, just can’t keep happening.”
Thoughts on the scuffle following the red card
“I did not see the play. So after Jair [Benitez] got a red card, one of their players put their hands on Jair and I was just trying to go over there and protect my teammate and just didn’t want anybody getting in his face. He made his mistake and got his red card. They should have just let him go on. As soon as they put their hands on him, I was just trying to be there as a teammate. Everyone was just pushing each other back. It wasn’t a big deal. I think it was more than anything just that both teams were kind of separating each other. It might have looked worse that it really was. “
On creating chances
“In the first half, I thought we missed several great opportunities to score. There were definitely plenty of chances to win the game and we played well enough to win the game. It was just that we keep beating ourselves. “

Thoughts on the match
“I’m happy we won. It was a great goal by Adam [Moffat]. Obviously, the red card swings momentum. We had a little bit of good play to start the second half and then with the red card it was kind of one-way traffic. The most important thing is the result and we won the game tonight so for that I’m very pleased.”
Thoughts on the red card
“I think there are certain individuals for both teams who possibly get under the skin of each other. I think it kind of reared its ugly head at the red card, and I didn’t see it so I can’t comment on if it was or not. It’s always a little bit heated and with the way the game was going it was pretty mild compared to others, but obviously that became a flashpoint and it kind of raised the intensity for about a good five minutes there.”
Thoughts on FC Dallas’ performance
“I think there was good play on both sides so give them credit. They created some good chances. They were playing narrow and using their pace on the outside pretty well. Castillo and Jackson are a handful and their pace is very electric so it can cause you problems.”
Thoughts on the first goal
“I think it was a bit of a fortunate touch for Will [Bruin]. I like the way Will’s playing. I think also he’s probably a little bit faster than people give him credit for and he’s making good runs. He’s keeping himself very dangerous and anticipating the game action and he’s been very good for us.”

Thoughts on the match
“It was a fantastic win. We are a little bit disappointed that we them stay in the game longer than we should have. It was pretty open in the first half but again we showed great fight to get that goal. The guys kept battling and obviously the red card sort of changed it. We realized we need the three points here and I was happy to get that winning goal.”
Thoughts on the goal
“I looked up and no one was coming and as guys were coming I got a good connection on it. I tried not to hit anyone and it was good to get that goal to put us ahead.”

“I think we played hard and battled hard and fought hard but you also have to be smart and keep your head. I haven’t seen a replay or anything like that but from what we’ve heard it was a legitimate red card. It’s good that our guys kept their heads.”
Thoughts on Will Bruin’s goal
“I was actually giving Will some crap. I told him, ‘You’ve got two goals off of the back of your head, a deflection off your shin and two missed breakaways,’ so we were just giving him crap. But I think for a forward a goal is a goal and anytime you can get your guys on the scoresheet it helps their confidence. It also helps the team and it certainly did tonight.”
